          مما لاشك فيه ان الانفتاح على العالم الخارجي والتفاعل معه يعد لمن الضروريات لتطوير اقتصادات الدول من خلال التجارة وتبادل الخبرات والمهارات وغيرها, وتمثل منظمة التجارة العالمية القطب الرئيسي من اقطاب العولمة والمسؤولة عن كافة العمليات التجارية في السلع والخدمات والملكية الفكرية في كافة انحاء العالم وهي تسعى لأن تجذب جميع دول العالم للانضمام اليها ومنها العراق لتكون منافسة عالمية في القطاعات سابقة الذكر , وتمر الآن دول العالم خصوصاً النامية منها في صراع بين القبول والانصياع لشروط المنظمة و الانعزال عن العالم الخارجي التي ستفرضها عليه المنظمة , ويتناول بحثنا أثر العولمة على الاقتصاد العراقي واستعداد العراق للانضمام لمنظمة التجارة العالمية خصوصاً وأنه أنتقل من الاقتصاد المخطط المركزي الى الحرية الاقتصادية وفتح باب التجارة والاستيراد من كافة دول العالم في ظل الاختلالات الاقتصادية التي يعاني البلد منها وفق مؤشرات الاقتصاد الكلي والتي تتمثل في البطالة والتضخم واالنشاط الاقتصادي والميزان التجاري للبلد
