Study of role of some plant powders on protection of sunflower against infection of Macrophomina phaseolina (tassi) Goid which causes charcoal rot disease

Abstract

            Three plants powder (garlic, black pepper and albizia powders) have been used with weights 0, 0.5, 0.75 and 1 gm/Petri dish respectively to study their role of protection of sunflower from infection of Macrophomina phaseolina fungi. The experimental results showed that the three plant powder have an activity which affects physiology features of M phaseolina fungi. The most significant inhibitions of radial growth and dry weight was for garlic powder which were (90 and 90) % respectively. The weight 1 gm was the best in affecting on the physiology features of the fungi. The most significant effects of increasing of percentage of sunflower planting were for garlic and black pepper powders which were 55.37 and 53.1% respectively. Meanwhile, 0.5, 0.75 and 1 gm/Petri dish have a stimulating effect on percentage of sunflower planting. Also, a positive role of inhibiting of infection of fungi was recorded for both garlic and black peeper powders which were (37.18 and 46.61)% respectively. A positive effect of garlic on dry and fresh of both vegetative and root was reported as well. The high weights have the more significant role of effect on all growth feature of sunflower.
