Abstract

The provisions of marriage are among the important jurisprudential issues that relate to the life of Muslims, and which regulate the relationship between the sexes within a legal framework, which preserves rights, preserves human offspring, meets physical needs, and according to which rights and duties are arranged for both spouses. Marriage is a contract related to the foundation of the world. Because God Almighty created man lacking women, and did not leave him in vain to act as he wanted by his choice, so every Muslim had to learn from him what he needed. It is what is known as the dowry, and many rulings are related to the dowry, which the Muslim should familiarize himself with, especially those that are in dire need. Among them is the issue of postponing or delaying the dowry, as it is linked to a number of rulings that many people are ignorant of, or understood in a wrong way because they are influenced by customs. And common customs, and Znoha is the right legal ruling. Among the results that I reached in this research are: 1. The dowry is a financial right that a man owes to his wife by contracting with her, or consummating her. 2. It is permissible to defer the dowry or some of it, and resort to custom in this. 3. Zakat is not obligatory on the woman’s deferred dowry, which is a right of the woman under the protection of her husband. God and the Pacific to either way.
