Abstract

The research dealt with introducing the maize crop, its nutritional and economic importance, and the original home of its cultivation. It also emphasized the study of the development of the area and the production of the corn crop in the governorates of the Middle Euphrates for the period (2019 AD) as well as the geographical distribution of space and production in the governorates of the Middle Euphrates and according to the administrative units (district) for the year (9201 AD) The study showed that Babel governorate leads the Middle Euphrates governorates in the cultivation of yellow corn in terms of area and production. As for productivity, the Muthanna Governorate came in first place.
