Intertextuality and Literary Genre (The Influence of Literary Genres on Each Other)
الملخص
In their contemporary meaning, texts (written or otherwise) are somehow influenced by pervious texts and influence future ones. In other words, texts have dialogue with their previous and future texts. Intertextuality seeks to demonstrate the quality of such interactions and influences and their different methods and functions. In addition to intertextual relations between texts, it can be said or at least claimed that such relations exist between literary genres in a larger scale. Intertextual relations can be also seen in some literary genres and are more outstanding when two different literary genres have such a relation. Accordingly, the present paper seeks to explain the issue and study intertextual (or generic) relations in some Persian literary genres. Therefore, it tries to explain intertextual relations between epic genre and lyric genre in Persian literature with emphasis on the ode format, and prove that Persian ode format in different structures is under the influence of the structure of epic genre. Such influence is much more visible in rhetorical structure of ode.
Key words: intertextuality, literary genre, epic, ode, Persian
