This study examines the intertwined relationship between missionary campaigns and Orientalism, and how missionary activity contributed to achieving several Orientalist objectives during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The study clarifies that missionary work was not merely a religious activity، but also a field tool for gathering information about Eastern societies, providing Orientalists with precise scholarly material on language, culture، and social environment. It indicates that missionary schools served as centers for generating the knowledge upon which Orientalists relied in their research. Furthermore, the research highlights that Orientalism itself provided significant services to missionary work by supplying linguistic knowledge and analyzing Islamic texts, thus enabling missionaries to craft their influential discourse. The study concludes that the relationship between missionary work and Orientalism was mutually beneficial, with each serving as an intellectual and cultural resource for the other within a broader Western project to understand and influence the East
