Abstract

The phenomenon of )fa`al and af`al( is a common phenomenon in Arabic, and its prevalence has drawn the attention of Arab linguists, who have given it great care and attention; hence, it has had a wide presence and tangible presence in grammar sources, morphology codes, and language works, whether general dictionaries, books of meanings, specialized works in language sciences, or other books of linguistic correction, as grammarians have studied it based on the fact that it is a phenomenon closely related to the issue of transitivity and intransitivity, while morphology books and their topics have included it in the chapter on abstraction and addition and what results from that addition in terms of semantic changes that are considered contrary to the meaning of the original without the hamza. As for other language works, the aspect of their treatment of this topic has mostly been centered around the dialectal aspect; This is because it represents, in one of its aspects, a dialectal phenomenon that cannot be ignored or underestimated. As for the interpretive codes, we sense in them prominent figures - even if implicit - of these two structures in the folds of the interpreters’ sayings.
