The graphic image is a formation of symbolic patterns, to which its mental dimensions have been added, and the mixture of language and imagination increases the aesthetics of the poem, and makes it compatible with the idea of the text. It is an important element of the construction of the poetic poem, and an important tool of the poet to express feelings and ideas; Because it is an artistic creativity that addresses both the senses and the mind, and it is the constant and permanent essence of poetry. For the judgment on the speech that we call poetry depends on the presence or absence of graphic and rhetorical images.
The artistic image takes many graphic formations, which we can find abundantly present in the poems of the poet Dargham Al-Barqawi, and among these formations that we will discuss in this research are the simile and the figurative image.
