شكلت قرارات مجلس الأمن الدولي خرقاً واضحاً لسيادة العراق مما ولد تأثيراً كبيراً على هويته الوطنية وإحساساً وإمساكاً لصبغتها، فقد تحولت القرارات الدولية التي تمسكت بها وإدارتها الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية والتي أوصلت الشعب العراقي إلى حالة مزرية، إذ أثرت فيه الهزات والهزائم المتكررة مما أثر على عزته وكرامته الوطنية، إذ أسهمت هذه القرارات في سحق هويته الوطنية ومفاهيمه الأخلاقية ومنها حب الوطن والدفاع عنه.
استمر التخريب والدمار الذي أصاب العراق وشعبه جراء تنفيذ العقوبات الدولية وهو ما أدى إلى إحداث خلل كبير في نسيج المجتمع العراقي وتدمير الكيان الوطني وما صاحب ذلك من آثار مأساوية دمرت شخصية ونفسية الإنسان العراقي وتدمير الكيان الوطني وما صاحب ذلك من آثار مأساوية دمرت شخصية ونفسية الإنسان العراقي ونالت بشكل أو بآخر من أولويات اهتمامات قدراته لخلق جيل عراقي مريض من خلال تدمير نظام دولته الصحي والتعليمي، ورغم ذلك أدرك العراقيين بأن العقوبات الدولية لم يكن يراد بها إسقاط النظام وإنما أريد بها إسقاط الفرد العراقي ومحو هويتة الوطنية وتمزيق الافراد من خلال تجويع وإفقار الشعب العراقي بكل طوائفه ومختلف مسمياته.
