Abstract

The importance of this research lies in studying the contribution rates of several physical attributes to the practical achievement in gymnastics for second-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Salahaddin University. The research problem can be summarized by answering the following question:What are the contribution rates of several studied physical attributes to the practical achievement in gymnastics for second-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Salahaddin University? This research aims to identify the contribution of several physical attributes to the practical achievement in gymnastics among second-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Salahaddin University. The descriptive correlational approach was employed, deemed most suitable for the nature of this study. The researcher selected a sample of second-year students from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Salahaddin University, and administered the relevant physical tests to them. The sample consisted of 65 students, after excluding 15 students who did not attend the tests, 20 students from the reliability coefficient, and 5 students from the pilot study. This resulted in a sample size of 61.90% of the total research population. After statistically analyzing the results using SPSS software, the researcher concluded the following:- The physical attributes studied in this research influence the practical achievement in gymnastics among second-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Salahaddin University.

- A prediction equation for practical achievement based on physical attributes was developed. Considering this, the researcher recommended the following: paying attention to developing physical attributes during the different educational stages, as they are the basis for practical achievement in gymnastics and other group and individual activities.
