General

Kufa journal for Veterinary Medical Sciences is an international and an open-access printed and online journal, promotes the sound development of the veterinary and animal sector by publishing original peer-reviewed research, short communications, research notes, case reports, and review articles covering all aspects of this broad field. The abbreviation of KUFA Journal for Veterinary Medical Sciences is (Kufa Jou. Vete. Med. Sci.).

KJVS strongly prohibits the authors from submitting the same manuscript for concurrent consideration by two or more publications.  It also prohibits publication of any manuscript that has already been published either in whole or substantial part elsewhere. KJVS is indexed by the Iraqi Academic Scientific Journals. All manuscripts are subjected to a thorough peer-review by at least two peer referees. The publication language of KJVS is English.  

Goal of KUFA journal

The goal of KJVS  is to bring the top quality studies and knowledge to the widest possible authors and people.

Type of paper

  • Regular research paper

The manuscript should report the findings of study that includes one or more experiments. The manuscript should contribute to increasing our understanding of the knowledge in veterinary and animal sciences.

  • Review article

Review manuscript should cover subjects within the scope of the journal that are of active current interest.

KJVS welcomes the authors to submit other kind of papers including: short communications, research notes and case reports.

Manuscript submission

The submission and review process of KUFA journal is handled online at Make A Submission .  Please note that it is compulsory to include the corresponding author and all authors with their affiliation and valid email addresses in the manuscript.

Ethical Approvals

When experimental animals are used, the method section must clearly indicate that adequate measures were taken to minimize pain, stress or discomfort. All studies using human or animal subjects should state (if applicable) an explicit statement in the Material and Methods section identifying the review and ethics committee approval for each study.

Preparation the manuscript

Style and format: Manuscripts should be single-spaced in a12-point Times New Roman font. Every page of the manuscript, including the title page, figures, references, tables, etc., should be numbered. Ensure your manuscript is clearly written in standard, scientific English language. The manuscript should be organised in the following order:

  1. Title and Authors’ information page

This page should contain the Full Title of the manuscript with capitalizing the first letter only. The title should be clear, descriptive, not too long, avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible. The name(s) of all the authors and corresponding author's name, institutions (affiliations) and full address (Street address, telephone number (including extension), hand phone number, and e-mail address) must be clearly indicated.

The title, authors’ name and affiliation should be in the top center on the width of the page. Kindly, multiple authors with different addresses must indicate their respective addresses separately by superscript numbers (a lowercase superscript letter) immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address An Arabic title and author's affliation are required for manuscripts which written in English (solely Arabic native speaker).

  1. Abstract

The second page contains the abstract that should not exceed 200 words in single paragraph for all type of manuscripts. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the main findings and major conclusions. An Arabic abstract is required for manuscripts which written in English (solely Arabic native speaker) and it should follow the English abstract.

  1. Keywords

Not more than five keywords in alphabetical order must be provided to describe the contents of the manuscript.

  1. Introduction

Should describe the essential background of the investigations with updated information, should not include the findings or the conclusions. It should not be a review of the subject area and should state the aim of the study. Kindly, Regular Papers must be prepared with the headings Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements, and References in this order.

  1. Tables

Please submit tables as editable text and not as images. All tables should be prepared in a form consistent with recent issues of KJVS and should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numbers.  Explanatory material should be given in the table legends and footnotes.  Be ensuring that the data presented in them do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article. Please avoid using vertical rules and shading in table cells.

Reference style

References in the text should be shown by placing in bracket [1], [1,2], [3,4-6] . Reference number should start from no. 1 onwards from introduction section (e.g.: [1],[2]...[1,2]). Kindly, reference list must be prepared accordingly.

Publication fees

Manuscripts will be considered for publication after payment of the publication charge by the corresponding author. The current publication fee is 100,000 IQ.D. it should be paid to the KJVS, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Kufa, Kufa, Iraq. Final English language editing will be done by experts after receipt of article processing charge. The English language editing will be done free of cost.
