تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن معنى اللون في الرواية العراقية (2010-2015 ) عبر تباينه تعبيرياً وتعارض دلالاته وتنوعها إيحائياً ، في ضوء دراسة المربع السيميائي الذي قدمته مدرسة باريس السيميائية (ورائدها غريماس ) ؛ فيشير التباين اللوني إلى الطبيعة التي تنتظم فيها دلالات اللون ،وما توحي به من تضارب دلالي على المستوى السطحي ،ولكنه يؤدي في النهاية إلى انسجام معنوي يرتبط بثيمة الرواية الرئيسة ويلوح بمغزاها .فتجيب هذه الدراسة عن السؤال الآتي : هل كان توظيف الألوان المتباينة في الرواية العراقية توظيفاً اعتباطياً يسهم برفد الموصف بصفة نعتية فقط ،أم كان توظيفاً سيميائياً يوحي بالمعنى العميق للرواية في ضوء تعدد الدلالات الضمنية داخلها .
