Abstract

This research aims to show the extent to which Al-Jahiz was influenced by those who preceded him and the extent of his influence on those who came after him by looking at his scientific efforts with regard to the Arabic language in particular and other world languages ​​in general, such as Persian, Turkish and other languages, and among those efforts is the completion of the topic of the origin of the language And the theories that were spoken, and talk about the different languages ​​of the world and the reason for the difference in dialects in the same language, and the tendency of each language to develop or change, including the Arabic language, such as the abandoned pre-Islamic vocabulary and the new Islamic expressions.

The research is concerned with Al-Jahiz’s reference to semantic development and the type of relations between the old and new meanings and how to renew words. The research also deals with non-Arabic and extraneous expressions and other topics. This research discusses Al-Jahiz’s method in his linguistic studies and his linguistic thinking style that did not stop at the Arabic language only, but rather He transcended them into the world's languages, taking advantage of his diverse culture and acquainted him with many different sciences
