Abstract

Magnesium-Aluminum alloys considered specially Mg-6Al very important alloys in engineering applications, but this alloys have weakly wear resistance and low hardness, therefore, addition some materials such as (Al2O3) at (3%-4%-5%) weight percentage to improve the hardness and wear resistance. In this present research Mg-6Al was prepare as a master alloy then recast this alloy after adding (Al2O3) under argon gas in electrical furnace, then study the effect of this addition on the hardness and wear resistance of the master alloy.
