Chances of achieving Goal 16 – (Peace, justice and effective institutions) In Iraq and its challenges after (Covid19)
Abstract
Sustainable Development Goal 16 is dedicated to promoting peaceful and inclusive societies, providing access to justice for all, and building effective and accountable institutions at all levels. Although Iraq has adopted the sustainable development plan for the year 2015-2030, it is still taking slow steps in its endeavor to implement the requirements of sustainable development, and the reality of the situation indicates the presence of obstacles and challenges created by various circumstances that were the reason behind the decline in indicators for this development. If Iraq wants to confront these obstacles and challenges, it must take the path of reconstruction, construction, cultural
development, and institutional building. This can only be achieved by ensuring the achievement of security and peace throughout the country, achieving justice, and supporting state institutions, which requires adopting the objectives of Goal 16 of the Sustainable Development Goals.
