Abstract

Given the significant interest in sports research and the focus on sports psychology, this research aims to address the impact of psychological stress on achievement motivation. A considerable number of stressors affect player performance, thus impacting achievement motivation, either positively or negatively. The research problem stems from the central question: Does psychological stress have a relationship with achievement motivation among futsal players in the northern region of Najaf? The research objective was to identify the relationship between psychological stress and achievement motivation among futsal players. The research sample consisted of several futsal teams in the northern region of Najaf. The researcher adopted a descriptive analytical approach. The research yielded several results, most notably that there is a relationship between the study variables, and this relationship is inverse; that is, the greater the psychological stress, the lower the achievement motivation, and vice versa. The research recommends working to reduce psychological stress among players to maximize achievement motivation through exercises, psychological guidance, counseling, and moral support.
