Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the political themes in Ḥilmī Sālim’s Poetry and analyze them. Ḥilmī Sālim is one of the intellectuals and critics of the contemporary Egyptian political and social life, whose poems provide hypothetical images of the realities of the Egyptian people and other nations. In the present study, his political poems are examined via a descriptive-analytical method. The research results indicate that the issue of freedom, homeland, colonialism, tyranny, martyrdom, etc. are the most fundamental political themes of in his poetry.
