Abstract

This research discusses how antonymy is a characteristic of Arabic language and arts that enhances the beauty of atext through the relationships between words meanings, and expressions. The research focuses on antonymy and its aesthetics image in the poetry of Omar ibn Abi Rabi’ah, by following an analytical method consisting of four axes that define antonymy in language and terminology ,verbal antonymy, antonymy, in figurative imagery,and antonymy at the literary level of metaphorical imagery.
