Abstract

The physical properties of the soil of Al-Haidariya sub-district of Al-Najaf Governorate were studied by analyzing (32) soil samples for two depths (0-30) and (31-60). The study included the three types of soil: river shoulder soil, river basin soil, and plateau soil. Including that there is a variation in the physical characteristics, whether at the level of depths within the same site or at the level of the place, the soil texture varied spatially in depth (31-60) cm with a texture whose varieties ranged from alluvial for shoulder soils to clayy alluvial for basin soils, while the plateau and overlapping soil textures were Mixed sandy
