A collection of poems (A Sulfur-Flavored Emptiness) by the poet Masar Hamid Al-Nasiri A study in light of cognitive rhetoric

Abstract

The poetry of  Massar Hamid al-Nasseri’s in her collection (A Vacuum Flavored with Sulfur) obliges the reader to delve into the critical experience with specific approaches and visions. Because language for her is not a reflection of reality, but rather an activity related to the conceptual mental field that gains its material from the particles of reality, and from images of imagination as an unlimited space for creation, creativity and thinking.

It required that it be divided into a preface in which I dealt with the concept of perceptual linguistics, its origins, the problematic of its term, and the relationship of this linguistic current to rhetoric at the level of vision and methodology, and three topics are:

The first topic: the new metaphors in the divan of a vacuum flavored with sulfur. The second topic: citation and perceptual inclusion in a book of sulfur-flavored vacuum. The third topic: the self and the other perceptually in a collection of sulfur-flavored emptiness.

The research concluded a number of results, perhaps the most important of which are the following:

1- New metaphors dominated Diwan (a space flavored with sulfur); This is due to her fondness for mixing perceptions, and her ability to link between different semantic fields, and this enabled her to express deep meanings.

 2- The poet presented the self in different familiar and unfamiliar perceptions, in which she expressed her being, personality, and vision in life, and some secrets of her hidden and mysterious self, as well as her relationship with the other and their interaction with each other.

3- One of the general features that characterize the poet in describing the homeland is that her perceptions and methods of expression are characterized by directness, compared to the ambiguity that we noticed in her poetry, which dealt with other topics.
