Abstract

The novel found a literary genre with its rules and advantages that differ from the rest of the narrative genres less than four centuries ago, and despite that, it witnessed many revolutions in the levels and methods of narration and construction, and the novel as a literary genre was divided into types, the most important of which is the historical novel, which is a prose narrative based on Historical facts around which writings with a delusional cognitive dimension are woven, and one of the most important types of novels is the historical novel, where the historical novel often tends to establish an educational function, and it is the fabric of human life, his emotions, and his emotions in a historical framework, and it unites with history in materials and differs from it in other materials , as it is a literary genre that is often dominated by imagination and emotion, which are purely literary genres. Among the most prominent historical novelists in our present era, Abdulaziz Al Mahmoud, who devoted his attention to the historical novel only, and one of the most prominent and famous of them is the pirate novel, where we chose it as a topic for our study and followed the descriptive analytical approach, where we arrived in our study of this novel that the Qatari novelist employed several elements such as time, place, characters and narration , which constitutes the construction of the novel in general and the historical novel in particular, and he worked as a novelist with distinction in conveying historical facts mixed with the imaginary element that connected to the days of the British colonizers of this part of the world, in an attempt to shed light on an unknown and important period in the history of the Arab world with an imaginary dramatic formulation and literary style.
