The study dealt with the morphometric characteristics of the floods of the western plateau of Najaf Governorate, as the number of floods in the study area reached (48) floods, with an area of (271,908679) km 2 and by (1)% of the total area of the study area, which is (25860,274602) km 2, the majority of which are located from The middle of the region to the border with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and some of the floods are located on the faults present in the region and others near it, in addition to that they are located at the ends of the valleys or the confluence of the river beds that flow into a higher rank (Map-1). The area, length, and perimeter of the overflows were divided into five categories. Through the morphological characteristics, it was concluded that there are (15) overflows close to the rectangular shape, and (13) overflows approaching the triangular shape, while there are (20) overflows located between the triangular and circular shapes. .
