The Old Babylonian Period (2004–1594 BCE) is considered one of the significant phases in the history of Mesopotamia. Its importance is highlighted through valuable information revealed about the history and civilization of the region. This information is based on surveys and archaeological excavations conducted at various sites, including Tell Abu Antiq, the focus of this study. Excavations at the site uncovered architectural structures such as administrative buildings, temples, residential houses, and archaeological artifacts, including a collection of pottery, which is the central subject of this study. This pottery has provided crucial insights into the daily life of that society through the study of decorative inscriptions, which help in understanding various aspects of life, the level of societal development, and the purpose of crafting pottery in different forms. These variations were driven by human needs in daily life, such as food preparation, storage of liquids, oils, and other essentials.
