Abstract

The current research aims to identify (the effectiveness of the digital integration learning strategy in acquiring historical concepts among second-year middle school students in the subject of social studies). To achieve the research objective, the researcher adopted an experimental design with partial control and a post-test for two experimental and control groups. The researcher randomly selected ــــ Intermediate School for Boys Day School to conduct the experiment, and in the same way, the researcher chose Section (A). To represent the experimental group that studied social studies according to the digital integration learning strategy, and section (B) to represent the control group that studied social studies in the usual way, and the research sample amounted to (30) students, with (30) students in each group. The two research groups were rewarded in some variables that may have an effect on the dependent variable, which are (age calculated in months, students’ achievement in the subject of Social Studies for the first semester, intelligence test), in addition to controlling other variables for the sake of the integrity of the research, noting that the researcher taught the two research groups, and the researcher prepared behavioral objectives according to the historical concepts that the researcher identified within the content of the history book, according to the processes of acquiring historical concepts, which are (definition, distinction, application), and the total of behavioral objectives reached (165) behavioral objectives, while As for the research tool, the researcher prepared a test to acquire historical concepts consisting of (60) multiple-choice paragraphs.

The experiment was implemented during the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. To obtain the results, the data were statistically processed using a t-test for two independent samples. The results showed the following: Students in the experimental group, who studied using the digital integration learning strategy, outperformed students in the control group, who studied using the traditional method, on the historical concepts acquisition test
