Abstract

In this article, the research focuses on the significance of the words in the story of the punishment of the people of Lot (PBUH) in the verses of the verbal homonym in this section of the story, and we try to explore the secrets behind the occurrence of the homonym in different words and expressions in one of the elements of the homonym known as substitution. With the help of the linguistic context, the researcher adopted the descriptive analytical approach to study this topic, and it appeared through this study; The significance may vary according to the context and that the context has an important role in determining the main meaning in the anecdotal words and in the allegorical verses in the stories of the Holy Qur’an.
