Abstract

The study showed that medium-sized cities have great roles and at different levels, as they exercise their role in their local scope by eliminating urban poverty, reducing disparities in the city's basic community services, and achieving a city in which amenities and stability are available for the population. It also has a role in repelling the movement of migration from its region towards large cities and ridding these cities of the problems of unemployment, overcrowding and lack of services, as well as its regional role in developing its countryside and region by creating outlets and channels for the passage of development from it towards rural areas.
