Abstract

Religious and sectarian fanaticism was a deadly poison that sickened Lebanon severely in a period of time and led it to the point of collapse, since describing it as an issue became confusion and concern for most poets and writers at that time, and that they were able to help create unity and affection through their poetry and writings, and among these poets we can point out To Bechara El-Khoury as a Christian poet from his youth until his old age, who still had pledged to himself to be committed to a patriotic idea devoid of any partisanship or sectarianism. This current article has dealt with illustrating the ideas and opinions of Bechara El-Khoury on the basis of the descriptive-analytical approach, which is related to topics such as denouncing sectarian fanaticism, nationalism, segregation, praising unity and solidarity, affection and love, and then criticizing and studying them from different dimensions and angles.
