Spatial analysis of residential land uses in the city of Kufa

The study has shown that the reality of the state of residential land uses in the city of Kufa is not consistent with the planning standards and the size of the population in it, as there is a clear shortage in the number of housing units and the residential area. 29.11% of the city's area, while the per capita share of residential use was (34.6 m2 / person), and the number of housing units was (22024) distributed over (20 residential neighborhoods).
It was noted that the residential use suffers from a clear shortage in the area and the number of housing units, and the shortage in the area reaches (20.89%) of the city’s area, and that the share of one person is less than the standard (20.4 square meters / person), noting that the planning standard is (50 %) of the city’s area (55 square meters / person).
It was found that the need for residential use until the year (2030) is (837.19 hectares), with a population increase of (93670 people).
