Abstract

The study area occupies the southwestern part of Najaf Governorate, most of whose surface is covered by alluvial soil of the type of sedimentary soil, which is characterized by a general slope from north to south. As well as the difference in their properties. They are: (location, geological composition, surface, climate with its elements (solar radiation, temperature, wind, relative humidity, precipitation, evaporation), soil with its natural and chemical characteristics, and natural vegetation). The surface determines the course of the geographical extensions of the irrigation and drainage network system in the study area, as it takes a direction (north-south-east-west).
