Abstract

The epic is poetry based on the poet's agitation and anger, or his pride in his lineage and the lineage of his family and tribe. The history of Arabic literature did not mention to us epics such as those we see in Persian literature. The Diwan of Hamasa by Abu Tammam contains some features of the epic that appeared in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, and why the researchers study them After comparing the two books, we find indications that there are common contents in them, such as describing the sword, the horse, war, courage, heroism and heroes, boasting about lineage, using the spear and playing with it, and believing in divine judgment. There are also imaginary images common in the two books that were poured into the rhetorical templates of metaphor, simile, simile of preference and dumping. Ferdowsi was a brilliant poet with an interest in the Arab and Persian cultures
