Abstract

The contemporary Arab poets have used various techniques to highlight their attitudes towards the prevailing conditions in their countries. Some of them have taken symbolism and symbolism as a way to combat negative situations. Some of them have taken a cynical and cynical manner to deter the ruler and his exploits in a sarcastic language that deters injustice and injustice. The contemporary Iraqi poet Ahmed Matar may be one of the prominent Iraqi poets who have taken upon themselves to defend the homeland. His poems and sarcastic style were a violent reaction, a harsh cry, a sharp and harsh rebuke against the Baathist regime, its repressive practices, and the conspiracies of government authorities, informants, secretaries and foreigners. Through cynicism, he tries to criticize the current Iraqi situation, the Arab nation and its political men, and urges the Iraqi people to move for their cause and stand up and stand against the Baathist regime. This study, which is based on the descriptive-analytical approach, aims to address the concepts of the irony and its semantic fields in Ahmad Matar poetry and to show his sarcastic style in dealing with the issues of Iraqi society and show its effect in awakening citizens' awareness in fighting tyranny and confronting tyranny and fighting contradictions and ignorance. False slogans and rejection of deplorable reality.
