This study aims to investigate the effect of a counseling program based on positive thinking in developing decision-making ability among volleyball players. The researcher used the experimental method with two groups (experimental and control) with pre- and post-tests. The research population consisted of 15 players from the Hit Volleyball Club (2023–2024 season), who were randomly divided into two groups: experimental (8 players) and control(7players).
A counseling program was designed consisting of 22 sessions, based on positive thinking strategies such as optimism, willpower, emotional balance, self-talk, and error-free thinking.
The results showed statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-tests of the experimental group in favor of the post-test, as well as significant differences between the two groups in the post-test in favor of the experimental group. It can be concluded that the counseling program based on positive thinking effectively contributed to developing the decision-making ability of volleyball players.
