Abstract

The study aimed to identify the effect of using the constructivist learning approach on developing affective scientific sense and learning dribbling and passing skills (overhead and over-the-shoulder) in handball among female students of the College of Education for Women, Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The experimental method was adopted. The sample consisted of (100) students divided into two equivalent groups: an experimental group taught according to the constructivist learning approach and a control group taught using the traditional method. An educational program was designed for the targeted skills and applied for one and a half months, with two instructional units per week, each lasting (90) minutes. The results showed statistically significant differences in favor of the experimental group in the post-tests of both skill performance and affective scientific sense compared with the pre-tests and the control group. The study concluded that constructivist learning is effective in improving handball skills and enhancing affective scientific sense among female students.
