Abstract

The concept of place attachment has received increasing attention since the beginning of the nineties of the last century, especially with regard to its relationship to city planning, as one of the specializations that create places for people, and because this concept is closely related to mobilizing society to support or oppose new urban planning projects, or redevelopment projects. The researchers differed between those who considered that this concept is a one-dimensional concept consisting of one dimension, which is the place identity , and whoever saw it as a multi-dimensional concept, without agreeing on these dimensions. Therefore, this research has attempted to reach the dimensions that make up the place attachment through dealing with the theories that explained it, and focus on the common concepts among these theories through which the dimensions of the place attachment are derived and that form the conceptual model of the place attachment. Therefore, the research problem was summed up by the lack of clarity of the dimensions that make up the place attachment, to achieve the goal of the research in reaching a conceptual model for the dimensions that make up the place attachment.
