Kofi Annan's role during the Kosovo and East Timor crises

After the end of the Cold War, the global system changed and the danger of wars and crises diminished, but a new type of internal conflict arose because of race, religion, natural resources and energy. Crises are important and influential events related to the international environment and constitute a source of concern for leaders of organizations and officials alike.
The Secretary-General is considered the largest administrative employee. In addition, he enjoys political powers and functions that he exercises in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations. He is considered a political official with many advantages and personal qualities that enable him to occupy a distinguished position within the organization in particular, and he enjoys the respect of Member States inside and outside the organization. The organization and at the level of politics and international relations in general.
