Constitutional practices in promoting and protecting the national identity of minorities in Iraq

Abstract

The constitutional articles that we mentioned represent the constitutional practices that guarantee the national identity, because they balanced the component with its political representation and its economic, cultural and social rights, which enhances the role of minorities in promoting and protecting the national identity, which in turn unifies the positions of society of all its components, and this is what is referred to by legal scholars as positive pluralism Which in turn helps in presenting an image of justice and equality among the members of society as well as preserving the national identity.

The constitutional practices that promote and guarantee national identity require the implementation of constitutional texts that activate the role of minorities within society and integrate sectarianism, race and ethnicity into the term national identity by focusing on all minorities obtaining their rights on the ground. Failure to achieve this leads to the deviation of democracy from its true path and thus leads This leads to the fragmentation of society with which the national identity is fragmented, and the process of strengthening national security and directing the intellectual elites to develop laws protecting minorities based on constitutional texts constitutes a guarantee for preserving the national identity against other small identities.
