Every year, Iraq ranks low among the indicators for achieving the seventeen sustainable development goals, which has had a negative impact on the reality of economic activity, and this is what the basic indicators of activity show. Here the economic challenge lies in how to address the structural imbalance by improving indicators of economic diversification in activity in a way that ensures improvement. The classification ranks issued by the United Nations. This requires setting a strategic development vision followed by realistic goals, diversifying the sectoral contribution to the domestic product and other indicators, stopping dependence on the oil resource, and benefiting from other available comparative advantages.
