Adopting strategic partnerships as an approach to building core capabilities in educational institutions: an exploratory study at the University of Mosul

This research aims to identify the effects of strategic partnerships in constructing the core competences in Mosul university as an ancient educational institution in Iraq, by knowing the university quest to introducing in strategic partnership in its works, and the contributing of this strategic partnership in core competences. The higher education sector in Iraq was selected as a research domain, the university of Mosul represented as society of the research, the academicals (Scientific) leaderships represented a sample of the study, the number of the sample is (174). The researcher adopted the questionnaire as a main tool for collecting data, the method of the study is a descriptive- analysis according to alignment with the study goals and procedures. The statistical analysis was performed, the main ones is descriptive- analysis tools and Structural Equation Modeling. The results confirmed that the introducing in strategic partnerships can be as an approach for constructing and developing the core competences in the university of Mosul, and the university of Mosul is continuing in constructing the cooperation relationships with reputable universities for enhancing its core competences
