Abstract

The study dealt with digitization within its dimensions (digital knowledge and competencies, change management and development, digitization planning, policies, procedures and processes, dissemination of digitization culture, management of original paper records), in the libraries of Mosul University

The study was based on the analytical descriptive approach, and was applied on a sample of 135 individuals in two categories (administrative and technical). The study used a questionnaire as a main tool for data and information collection, as well as interviews.

In order to reach the set goals and process data and information, many descriptive statistical methods were used (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, percentages, and probability ratio) and tested the research hypotheses of the correlation between its variables. The research reached a set of conclusions, including that the percentages of the electronic digitization variable have achieved an average affiliation, and it was found that the most variables whose affiliation was average represented by digital knowledge and competencies with a good response rate, while the original paper records were the least important and in terms of their arithmetic mean values.

Based on the findings of the research, it has developed a set of recommendations consistent with its conclusions, perhaps the most important of which is the necessity of supporting and consolidating the idea and subject of electronic digitization in the libraries of the University of Mosul to develop its work in a way that secures and provides the best digital services for its beneficiaries and clients.
