Abstract

The banking sector faces great challenges resulting from intense competition in the financial and banking environment, and this is what makes the management of banks constantly and continuously seeking to increase their productivity, and to improve this banking productivity, banks must move towards investing in various fields. Thus, it has become a preoccupation for many financial institutions around the world, and perhaps the most prominent thing that helps these institutions to ensure their productivity is keeping pace with developments in the external environment in which they operate and translating these developments into their internal environment. This study aims to analyze the Malmoquist index to measure the total productivity of banks The results were obtained using (Data Envelopment Analysis) program based on the Malmquist method for total productivity in Iraqi private banks, and data were collected from the annual financial reports of private Iraqi banks listed in the Iraq Stock Exchange and for a sample of (10) banks for a period of (2010 Malmoquist productivity analysis was adopted using the Data Envelope program, and a number of conclusions were reached, the most important of which is the presence of a discrepancy in the productivity of the study sample banks. Al-Iraqi urged Iraqi private banks to use banking technology, which would make them achieve a new competitive advantage and revive the economy The National Bank has been gradually introduced to the global financial markets, in order to achieve a development in its work, increase its productivity and face the recurring financial crises in the Iraqi banking sector
