In this article, it has been tried to investigate and compare the opinions of present and past scholars to achieve the desired goal. However, one of the topics that scholars of rhetoric have addressed and have shown few aspects of its great and deep meanings is the way of prohibiting in the holy Quran, that the almighty God has employed as a means to invite the humanity toward the truth. At the end (in the conclusion), the results of this study are presented, of which the following can be mentioned:The prohibition in the Quran is of two types:a) The true prohibition which has an imperative (duty-bound) meaning and it is a religious duty and it is intended that the audience avoids performing an action.b) Non-duty-bound prohibition which is not intended for explaining the religious orders but to explain the various rhetorical meanings that one can realize it through the context of the words such as enlightment (guidance), intimidation, disablement, humiliation, etc.
