The demographics of the city of Marrakech included several elements, the most important of which was the Muslims, who consisted of two main components: the Berbers, the indigenous inhabitants of Morocco, and the Arabs who came to Morocco and Marrakesh during the era of the Almoravids and the largest part came during the era of the Almohads during the era of Abd al-Mu’min and his grandson Abu Yusuf al-Mansur, and there are also elements Others, such as puzzles and slaves who are from different countries and included them in the Almoravid and Almohad army, as for non-Muslim religious minorities, they are Christians and Jews, as they constituted a small group of the population of Marrakesh, as the Christians worked in some military and administrative jobs such as tax collection, but the Jews did not have a clear influence in society Marrakesh, especially during the era of the Almoravids, as Ali bin Youssef did not allow them to live or spend the night in the city of Marrakesh, and during the era of the Almohads, they also did not receive good treatment, but the people of Marrakesh lived in harmony during the era of the two states
