Spatial distribution of the Residential land uses in Najaf Al Ashraf 1977- 2019))

Abstract

Conclusion The pursuit of this study was to research the Spatial distribution of the habitation land uses in Najaf Al Ashraf over the period of 1977- 2019, and the search percentage of the area change and location to manifest the distinction of the area expansion throughout the research period. The study depended upon the visuals and the original designs for the city that depended on the field surveys preferred for the study to achieve the results, the field labor proved the big area changes in the use of the residential land which was the result of the population increase through the successive generations which is a result of the normal population increase in addition to immigration being that Najaf is one of cites that attracts populations which needs the provision of an appropriate place to expect the use of land if the city started in increase in area and urban life linearity to hold population increase for the convenience of the city residents and the study concluded many results supports achieving the goals stated: most importantly is the area of the city in 1977 became 4,6551 Hectares which is 38% of all of the urban usage, and reached 7.914 Hectares in 1987 in the increase to 32,589 Hectares , the area use held 16,958 Hectares in year 1997 in percentage of 39.06% of the full area of the city in the increase of 11428 in comparison of the year 1987, and held 254,572 Hectares in 2007 in the percentage of 40.72% in the increase of 50.12% in comparison to the use of residency of the year 1997, until it reached 36,184 Hectares in the year of 2019 in the percentage of 42.02% from all the usage increase of 42% in comparison with the residency area usage of the year 2007
