Abstract

There is no doubt that the art of the novel has occupied a privileged position in contemporary Arabic literature. The beginnings of the new novel focused on turning to reality in terms of portraying it and questioning it, and that in our present era it dealt with realistic issues, and its centrality became a depiction of life, as we notice this matter in the novel “The Infidel” by Ali Al-Badr Al-Iraqi. Some special features close to realistic literature. This novel was written during the period when the world received dozens of videos that depicted how ISIS dealt with women. This novel tells the story of an Iraqi woman who suffered from violence and through it, Al-Badr portrayed the human reality in Iraqi society.
