Health legislation in light of the laws of the royal era in Iraq (1922-1958)

Abstract

The health sector constituted a major priority for the monarchy due to the accumulation of medical problems during the Ottoman era and the beginning of the occupation. Therefore, the state paid great attention to it and enacted several laws, established regulations, and issued decisions related to this sector. These legislations contributed greatly to the development and advancement of the health sector, and despite this, it suffered from the presence of many problems. The most important of which are ignorance, poverty, and lack of health facilities. The study examined health-related legislation to determine the extent of the efforts made and the positive and negative effects of those legislations.
