The concept of transportation corridor denotes many meanings that have led to the emergence of abundant scientific output in a variety of disciplines. An analysis of the literature can build a theoretical framework for analyzing case studies, based on the development of a functional classification of pathways and on a multiscale approach to study objectives. The choice of the two case studies in Europe and the Middle East makes it possible to compare the idea of the corridor with concrete planning themes in different regional contexts. The aim is to question the scope and limits of this idea in regional planning practices by positioning themselves respectively in different scales. This multi-purpose project support makes it possible to truly understand the gap between the concept, its political implementation and its concrete implementation in the regions. It also makes it possible to highlight case studies that are elements that allow a reconsideration of the corridor concept itself.
