Abstract

The Palestinian cause has violently shook the feelings of the Muslims, so their tears shed blood over it, and because of it the embers of grief and anguish burned in their flaming wings. Poets, like all the people of the Arab world, were affected by this issue and immortalized this tragedy throughout their homeland. As for those poets who were affected by the Palestinian cause and sang glorious poems in defense of the independence of the Holy Land and the freedom of the Palestinian people, the Iraqi poets Ahmed Al-Waeli and Muhammad Mahdi Al-Jawahiri. The Iraqi poets, despite the difference in their various poetic contents, we see them taking one approach towards Zionist usurpation and defending their people. In this regard, Al-Waeli approached the issue in an Arab-Islamic direction, and tried to portray the tragedy of Arabs and Muslims as a problem that can only be solved by standing united by the wounded Palestinian people. As for Al-Jawahiri, he believed that the only way for his nation was to fight, and he criticized the falsity of the Arabs' claims of commitment to peace and self-restraint, and he also criticized Islam for its tolerance and leniency in front of the enemies.
