Abstract

Industry is considered one of the most effective and dynamic economic activities because of its links with other economic activities. It helps the characteristics of the industrial structure from time to time, and from one place to another, and following up the changes that occur to it and its characteristics are of fundamental importance in studies on the geography of industry and through a study The industrial structure along the time series under discussion is diverse and includes most of the industrial branches, just as there is no specialization in any branch without another, and there is no industrial branch that has clear control over the rest of the industrial branches, and it is equal and has not changed except for a slight change in the direction of diversity, as The Iraqi industrial structure has been characterized by the supremacy and superiority of consumer industries in terms of the number of establishments and manpower, and a clear decline in industrial productivity despite the availability of its inputs, and this represents a defect in the industrial structure that requires finding appropriate solutions for treatment and advancing the development of productive industrial branches.
