Abstract

“Shahnameh Ferdowsi” is a complete mirror of Iranian culture that originated from the myths and history of ancient Iran, and “Mu’allaqa Ibn Kulthum” - one of the pre-Islamic Arab poets - is a reflection of the thought and vision of the Bedouin Arabs and their aspirations. In creating their stories, these two poets used ingredients and techniques known as story elements. The use of these elements gave coherence and connection to their stories and led to her enjoying the logic of storytelling. This study aims to clarify and analyze the most important narrative elements used in “The Shahnameh and his commentary by Ibn Kulthum” using the descriptive-analytical approach. The results showed that the most important elements of the story, which are elements such as characters, plot, environment, space, narration, dialogue, and so on, were used prominently in these two works, and were manifested in them on a large scale and in a manner appropriate to the topic. These techniques were artistically and theoretically represented in them, and the chain of causes and events were wrapped in a way that convinced the mindset of the current addressee about the modern concept of storytelling.
