Abstract

The study of climatic assessment of industrial areas is one of the most important studies directed towards by researchers in the field of applied climatology. Factories and towards the prevailing line of those winds. The study concluded that there is a spatial variation in the concentration rates of gas pollutants recorded between the residential neighborhoods in the city of Najaf and the industrial neighborhoods therein due to the variation in pollution sources and the difference in their concentration ratios and their relationship to climate conditions, in particular the wind factor in terms of speed and direction, and among the priorities of the study is to choose the optimal location For many industrial sites and confining them within an industrial city planned in a scientific and organized manner, which requires in its presence to provide a distance ranging between (5-15) km, in which the direction of the prevailing winds is taken into account and to be as far away as possible from residential gatherings, in line with maintaining a healthy environment free of industrial pollution. The study also showed the existence of a direct relationship between the height of those chimneys and the distance traveled by those pollutants. The more the height of the chimneys is more than 15 m, the farther the distance traveled by the pollutants until they reach the surface of the earth, as the wind is one of the most important elements of the climate and the most dangerous in transporting air pollutants from sites Industrial towards the residential neighborhoods of the city of Najaf
